Product presentation The MC2UC total knee prosthesis, an ultra congruent implant with rotating bearing, designed to enable tricompartimental knee replacement by resurfacing while :
. Guaranteeing optimal congruence between the femoral component and the bearing . Protecting the polyethylene from wear . Reducing stress at the interfaces . Enabling increased flexion amplitude.
Details
The components from the MC2 and MC2UC ranges can be mixed and matched.
Femoral component
Produced from a casting process in which the cobalt chromium is honed and highly polished.
Comes in 5 right-left sizes, cemented or with dual coating: High porosity titanium and hydroxyapatite.
Recessing of the condyles reduces mass by 30%.
The trochlea is wide and deep and continued as distally as possible.
The anterior cutting angle insures a cut without stair gait.
The posterior cut, non orthogonal to the distal cut, releases the posterior part of the condyles to encourage proper flexion amplitude and offers, in combination with the anterior cut, excellent primary stability of the implant (press-fit effect).
2 rivets, of which the holes are prepared with the trial implant, ensure accurate positioning of the implant.
Mobile bearing
Made of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and vacuum-packed.
Available in 5 sizes and 4 thicknesses.
Its size has been studied to enable rotation without contact with the soft parts.
To the front, it has been largely indented to avoid all contact with the patella tendon or the tip of the patella.
The cylindrical conical rotation rivet stabilises the plateau in the event of lift-off and prevents movements encouraging wear and creep.
High congruence with the femoral component ensures good stability.
The size of the bearing must be identical to that of the femoral component. Tibial tray
Made of the same material and manufacturing process as the femoral component, friction characteristics are improved by the honed and highly polished surfaces in contact with the polyethylene bearing.
Designed to fit the tibial cut without having to use a right or left component.
Monoblock or modular with extension keels, it comes in 5 sizes, cemented or with dual coating: High porosity titanium and hydroxyapatite.
The thickness of the tray has been optimised using a keel with 2 fins, and finished, for the modular version, with a morse taper to accommodate an extension keel mounted with a screw.
The choice of tray size does not depend on the size of the femoral component.
Patella component
Made of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) and vacuum-packed.
Comes in 5 sizes, cemented.
Its part-sphere design cut according to an oval contour enables better adjustment to the edge of the patella section.
